Paul D. Cobo  began practicing Aikido in   1993 under Shidoin     (6th Dan) Rick Stickles at  at Aikido Schools of New Jersey.

In 1996, he began the apprentice instructor program teaching children/adults, and shortly after was asked to teach at Circulo Espanol in Queens, New York.   

From 2003 through   2004, he was invited to teach regularly at Aikido of Ridgewood, and lastly at Aikido of North Jersey under the direction of Chief Instructor/Sponsor Jerry Zimmerman of Aikido of North Jersey. 

He has also been a guest instructor at the annual Kagami  Biraki Celebration at Tora Dojo, in Kearny  New Jersey. 

Paul D. Cobo has participated in seminars with top Shihans such as: Yoshimitsu Yamada, Seiichi  Sugano, Peter Bernath, David Halpern, Hiroshi Ikeda, Patricia Hendricks, Claude Berthiaume, Hal Lehrman, Harvey Konnisberg, Donovan Waite, and many others
